The Difference Campaign

Be a part of the next phase of LFCDG’s history by participating in The Difference campaign today.

The Difference: Building for the Future:

We are proud to announce that $40 million has been secured toward The Difference campaign’s $50 million goal. Together we have reached 80% of the campaign goal but we have more work to do. We are calling on all Canadians to consider their investment in this once-in-a-generation project. Together, we can continue to make a difference in the future of Canadians living with disabilities.

The Difference You Will Make

The Difference Campaign is an ambitious $50 million campaign aimed at building a new 89,000-square-foot national Dog Guide training school. This initiative will expand our capacity to train and match more remarkable Dog Guides with people from across the country. With the plans and permits approved, the site is being prepared to start construction, with the opening planned for early 2026.

The foundation’s goal is to ensure the new training school is fully accessible to the varied needs of the clients we serve so that no one will experience any barriers. These improvements will include a Gold Level Certification by the Rick Hansen Foundation – an accolade achieved by only 34 buildings in Ontario.

Your support will make a difference and will help provide more people with the life-changing assistance of a Dog Guide.

For Clients – Accessible and Comfortable Guest Rooms

For our clients, there will be 35 large bedrooms that will be fully accessible with space and furnishings to allow our clients and dogs to bond and relax in the privacy of their room.

For Clients, Staff, and Dog Guides – Training Spaces and Classroom

Dedicated training areas and classrooms for each of the seven Dog Guides programs will provide a more conducive learning environment that has spaces dedicated to their training.

For Dog Guides – Optimize Canine Well-Being

Larger and improved kennel spaces will provide indoor and outdoor spaces to learn, play, and relax. These spaces will increase their health and well-being to set them up for success in their training.

The Difference for Bev

“I’ll never forget the first time I crossed a busy street of four lanes of traffic with my first Dog Guide – I was terrified not being able to see! That’s how limited I was. Now I go everywhere with my Dog Guide. It’s night and day, truly.”

Bev, Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides Recipient
