Providing Dog Guides to Canadians with Disabilities

GivingTuesday Countdown Red

Be Part of Something Life-Changing This Giving Tuesday!

Donate on Tuesday, December 1st and Participate in the
Name a Future Dog Guide Contest!

Giving Tuesday is a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black Friday. The "Opening day of the giving season," it’s a time when charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes. In the same way that retailers take part in Black Friday, the giving community comes together on December 1st.

This year, the foundation is excited to announce that Lexus of Oakville will be matching all donations made on Giving Tuesday (to a maximum of $15,000). Together, we hope to raise $25,000 to cover the cost of training and providing one special Dog Guide for one Canadian with a medical or physical disability.

Participants that donate online or by phone on Giving Tuesday will have a chance to enter the Name a Future Dog Guide on Giving Tuesday Contest. Dog Guides will draw for a name on Wednesday, December 2 and announce the winner at 9 a.m. (EST).

Help us reach our goal on Tuesday, December 1st and donate online at or call 1.800.768.3030, Ext. 0.

Please share the news and follow the foundation on social media throughout the day.

When you donate on this Giving Tuesday, you will be helping to create more Dog Guide teams like…

Alex and Stanley graduated in October 8, 2020 from the Autism Assistance program.

"Alex and our family would like to thank the Lions Foundation and our sponsors, Pet Valu and the Kendal & District Lions Club for the sponsorship of Stanley, Alex's Autism Assistance Dog Guide. Alex is super excited about his new best friend, Stanley!"

Patti and Garner graduated from the Canine Vision program November 5, 2020.

"Garner and I are doing great. We encourage everyone to donate. I wouldn’t have Garner if it wasn’t for all the donations and support that everyone has given."

Julie and Peanut graduated from the Canine Vision program November 5, 2020.

"I am Julie, Peanut’s partner. I am legally blind. As someone who has felt trapped, in this time of uncertainty and due to the pandemic having Peanut has been a godsend and has brought me more than freedom, she has brought me confidence to do things and go places on my own again, Peanut brought me peace."

Kathryn and Parade graduated on November 5, 2020 from the Service program.

"Parade and I are doing really well. My gratitude for the Lions Foundation Dog Guide Program and all that it does is beyond words. Parade is an amazing Dog Guide and wonderfully helpful addition to my care circle!"
