GivingTuesday Countdown Red

You’ve Made Giving Tuesday a Success!

Yesterday, millions of people around the world came together to donate, volunteer, share their voice, spread acts of kindness, and much more as an act of solidarity in expressing one of our rare shared values: generosity.

Together, with the incredible support of our community including Lexus of Oakville with their $20,000 matching donation, we raised $164,306 and made a difference for Canadians with a medical or physical disability.

Thanks to you, four people will receive a special Dog Guide with a very special name! And speaking of names, we are thrilled to announce the winners of the Name Four Dog Guides contest:

  • Alfonso, picked by our matching partner Frank Apa of Lexus of Oakville. Alfonso is the current unofficial Lexus of Oakville’s mascot. He is Frank Apa’s pet dog and very loving and caring.
  • Jaz, picked by Kelly Rodrigues from Hillsburgh, Ontario. In memory of Kelly’s friend Jaz who unfortunately passed away a year ago.
  • Magic, picked by Susan Hicks from Toronto, Ontario. Susan is a long-time LFCDG volunteer.
  • Neka, picked by Cliff Lesh from Beaverlodge, Alberta.

The additional funds raised will go towards the early care of eight puppy litters that are arriving in December and January. These puppies will one day become future Dog Guides and will have a big impact in someone’s life!

Whether you donated, shared the Giving Tuesday fundraiser with friends and family, foster or babysit LFC's dogs, or volunteer – know that you played a key part in the Dog Guide Journey.

Dog Guides go on to positively impact someone’s life. Someone like Autism Assistance graduate Kesler and his Dog Guide, Wyndsor from British Columbia.
